Abstract
The complexes AlCl3,2Me2O,AlCl3,1·5MeCN, AlCl3,2MeCN, and AlCl31·5HCO2Me have been examined by i.r. and Raman spectroscopy; model calculations support a trigonal-bipyramidal five-co-ordinate structure for AlCl3,2Me2O but ionic structures are suggested for the others.
