Abstract
Se describe e ilustra Matelea atrolingua Morillo, Morais et Farinaccio, una nueva especie de Apocynaceae ( Asclepiadoideae , Gonolobinae ) de las veredas de Goias, en el centro de Brasil. La nueva especie difi ere de todas las especies conocidas del genero por tener lobulos corolinos incurvos, notablemente bullados y purpura oscuro por la cara adaxial, y margen basal de la corona profundamente dentado, con la mayoria de los dientes anchos y truncos.
