Tissue culture optimization for Lallementia royleana L. an important medicinal plant 重要药用植物扁豆的组织培养优化

This study was designed to develop an efficient protocol for Lallementia royleana in vitro culturing and to analyze the effect of various hormones on its culturing ability. The indirect organogenesis and its callogenetic ability were evaluated; with the best (100%) results with 1 mg L-1 of benzyl aminopurine (BAP) and 2 mg L-1 of indole acetic acid (IAA) combination. In direct regeneration, leave petioles, nodes and internodes explants were cultured for shooting on various concentrations of BAP and kinetin (KIN). Maximum shooting (80%) was obtained from nodal parts with 1.0 mg L-1 of BAP and 0.5 mg L-1 of KIN. Similarly, the best in vitro rooting (24 roots) was achieved with 1 mg L-1 naphthalene acetic acid (NAA). Lallementia royleana showed higher regeneration through direct regeneration than callogenesis. Significant variability (p = 0.002625) among callus induction, plant parts and hormonal combinations were observed. The node and internode explants showed observable callus responses in combinations of 2, 4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) with NAA, and BAP with IAA.

Cyperaceae in the campos de natureza of Cameta, Para, Amazon, Brazil. This study presents a taxonomic treatment of genera and species of Cyperaceae Juss. in the campos de natureza of Cameta, Para, Amazon, Brazil. After intense field expeditions and studies of herbarium collections, 11 genera and 51 species of Cyperaceae were identified for the area: Rhynchospora Vahl (17 species), Scleria P. J. Bergius (9), Cyperus L. (7), Eleocharis R. Br. (4), Bulbostylis Kunth (3), Lagenocarpus Nees (3), Fimbristylis Vahl (3), Calyptrocarya Nees (2), Diplacrum R. Br. (1), Fuirena Rottb. (1) and Hypolytrum Rich (1). Four species are recorded in the state of Para for the first time: Eleocharis angustispicula R. Trevis., Eleocharis jelskiana Boeck., Rhynchospora curvula Griseb., and Scleria amazonica Camelb., M. T. Strong & Goetgh. A taxonomic identification key, morphological descriptions, taxonomic comments, geographic distribution, habitat data and illustrations for all species nutlets are provided.

The objective was to evaluate the effect of the number of stems per plant in the gas exchange index, in the productivity and in the harvest precocity of Italian tomatoes. It was used a randomized block design in a factorial scheme 2 x 5, with four replicates. The first factor constituted of two cultivars of Italian tomatoes (“Giuliana” and “Tyna”) and the second by the number of stems per plant. At 78 days, it was evaluated the gas exchanges and production parameters of the cultivars. There was no statistical difference between the cultivars for the gas exchange indexes, however, the cultivar “Giuliana” was more productive. With relation to the conduction types, the highest values of the CO2 liquid assimilation rate were observed for the conduction type 3, however int did not result in meaningful results in productivity. The removal from the main stem retards the crop

Armazenamento de sementes e concentrações de ágar no cultivo in vitro de Brassavola tuberculata Hook. (Orchidaceae) 块茎草离体培养中种子贮藏与琼脂浓度的研究。()

In vitro sowing and seed banks contributes to the conservation of the genetic variability of the orchids. Aimed to evaluate the storage time and agar concentrations on the in vitro germination of Brassavola tuberculata Hook. Seed samples were dried for 14 days and stored for 0, 30, 60 and 90 days under 4±2 oC. The culture medium was ½ MS, supplemented with agar (0; 1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7 or 8 g L-1). At 30 days after sowing the germination percentage was evaluated and the data were submitted for analysis of variance. The B. tuberculata seeds germinated at all concentrations of agar and storage periods evaluated, presenting average germination above 70%. Germination percentage decreases with increasing storage period and agar concentrations. Thus, for in vitro sowing of this species, seeds stored for up to 30 days are recommended, regardless of the agar concentration used in the culture medium.

Morphological, ecological and toxicological aspects of Raphidiopsis raciborskii (Cyanobacteria) in a eutrophic urban subtropical lake in southern Brazil 巴西南部亚热带城市富营养化湖泊中raciborskii蓝藻的形态、生态和毒理学研究

A dense perennial bloom of Raphidiopsis raciborskii was observed in an urban lake (29°53’13”S and 51°09’29.9”W). Due to supposed toxicity, this study analyzed the morphology of the species, evaluated the main factors that influence its growth, and examined bloom toxicity. Two sites were sampled monthly from November 2009 to November 2010. The species was found in all samples and dominated in 77% of the samples. Highest density was recorded at the end of summer (March – 199,550 ind.mL-1) at 26.6 oC and pH 7.8. High densities were also found at low temperatures (72,145 ind.mL-1 at 12.6 °C and 130,475 ind.mL-1 at 14.5 °C) and at minimum (5.4) and maximum (8.7) pH, reaching 89,964 ind.mL-1 and 61,400 ind.mL-1, respectively. Nitrogen availability was high, especially ammonium [(60-)140-660 μg.L-1], and phosphorus was low (orthophosphate < 10 μg.L-1). These results support that R. raciborskii has a wide tolerance to abiotic variations. Saxitoxins and gonyautoxins were found in the bloom

Butia odorata (Barb. Rodr.) Noblick is an important regional genetic resource, however its commercial propagation is difficult by the shortage of plant breeding information and seedling formation. The objective of the study was to characterize the physiological behavior of B. odorata seeds by desiccation and conservation at different temperatures followed by viability analyses for further physiological classification. Mature fruits of B. odorata were collected and depulped. For desiccation, the diaspores were dried whole in an oven with a constant temperature 30 oC for 24 hours. The storage was carried out in negative temperature with the diaspores packed in a polyethylene bag. At the end of each period, a new water content determination and the viability test were performed. It can be inferred that B. odorata seeds have orthodox behavior because they presented the viability index above 90% with a water content of 6.14% and storage at sub-zero temperature. In addition, viability was maintained around 70% after storage with negative temperature and 5% humidity for 32 months.

It can be inferred that B. odorata seeds have orthodox behavior because they presented the viability index above 90% with a water content of 6.14% and storage at sub-zero temperature. Cutting is an alternative kiwifruit propagation, to obtain rootstocks or to directly root its. As a clonal propagation method, there is no loss of desirable agronomic characteristics. This study was carried out to evaluate the rooting of softwood cuttings of kiwifruit ‘Bruno’, ‘Elmwood’ and ‘Matua’ (Actinidia deliciosa) and ‘MG06’ (Actinidia chinensis) submitted to indolebutyric acid (IBA) treatment. The cuttings were immersed, at their base, in concentrations 0, 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000 and 8000 mgL-1 of IBA. After 90 days, the following variables were evaluate: percentage of rooted cuttings, callus and leaf retention per cutting; average length of the three largest roots; average number of roots and root dry matter mass. The rooting of ‘MG06’ is higher than ‘Elmwood’ and ‘Matua’, not differing from ‘Bruno’. ‘Matua’ presented the lowest rooting. The AIB increases the rooting percentage, and with an estimated concentration of 4,640 mgL-1, it, can obtain 48.9% of rooted cuttings.

Macrophytes communities associated to soil bioengineering techniques for erosion control in riverbanks 与河岸侵蚀控制土壤生物工程技术相关的大型植物群落

The objective of this study was to evaluate the temporal and spatial richness of aquatic macrophyte settlement in a right bank of the Sao Francisco river, northeastern Brazil. The botanical material was collected and assembled exsiccate from April 2014 to September 2015, totaling four samplings at the points identified as: Vegetated Slope (A); Vegetated Riprap (B); Eroded Slope (C), Cribwall (D); Vetiver Grass Contour Line (E). It was identified 66 species distributed in 23 families. The Vegetated Slope in the rainfall period presented higher species richness and diversity. The soil bioengineering techniques at points B, D and E presented a stable river bank, thus creating a favorable environment for a larger settlement of macrophytes.

Despite the increase in the demand for native fruits, little has been explored regarding the behavior of the species in the main producing regions. The objective of this study was to describe the phenology, productivity and fruit quality of 18 and 32 year-old jabuticaba trees propagated by seed in the municipality of Hidrolândia, GO, the main producing region of the fruit in the Central-West Region. It was verified that the jabuticaba trees vegetative development occurs from November to August. Their reproductive period, when irrigated, occurs September to October, varying from 29 to 46 days, being influenced by the plant’s age and by climatic factors. Regarding the reproductive phenophases and the productivity of the jabuticaba tree, the plants have variable reproduction periods, productivity, fruit size and pulp yield. As for the factors that determine the quality of the fruits, the age of the plant did not influence the quality

Plant density influence on life history traits of a perennial herb in rocky outcrops, southeastern Brazil 植物密度对巴西东南部露头岩中多年生草本植物生活史性状的影响

Rocky outcrops support a great diversity of edaphic conditions and associated vegetation mosaics greatly determined by factors like local topography and micro-environment. The vegetation is grouped, and clonal plants may form patches with different densities. Densitydependent responses are an important component of organism’s life-histories. We evaluated the density effects on Vellozia albiflora traits. We settled 20 monospecific patches of V. albiflora with different densities and sampled vegetative and reproductive traits. We compared traits between plants experimenting densely crowded and uncrowded conditions. V. albiflora rosettes present larger sizes and higher production of sexual reproductive structures in high densities. We concluded that V. albiflora probably allocates more resources to sexual reproduction in response to high-density conditions, which may allow a higher survival of offspring, since seeds are able to endure in soil and germinate under better density conditions, whereas the propagules generated by asexual reproduction must establish right after their production.
