Perubahan Tradisi Wiwitan di Desa Turipinggir, Kecamatan Megaluh, Kabupaten Jombang (1980-2021)

Abstract

Wiwitan is a ritual offering carried out by Javanese farmers as a form of gratitude for obtaining blessings and safety as well as prayers so that the harvest gets abundant results, one of which is in the village of Turipinggir. The purpose of this paper is to explain the changes in the wiwitan tradition in Turipinggir Village, Megaluh District, Jombang Regency and the factors that cause changes in these traditions. The research method that the researcher uses in this research is the historical research method, namely topic selection, heuristics, interpretation, source criticism, and historiography. The research shows that there are changes in the wiwitan tradition in Turipinggir village. The changes include the determination of the day, method, uborampe, community participation, and changes in values in the wiwitan tradition. These changes are caused by two factors, namely internal factors (from within) and external factors (from outside). Wiwitan adalah ritual persembahan yang dilakukan para petani suku Jawa sebagai wujud rasa syukur untuk memperoleh keberkahan dan keselamatan serta doa agar panen memperoleh hasil yang berlimpah, salah satunya di Desa Turipinggir. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah menjelaskan perubahan-perubahan dalam tradisi Wiwitan di Desa Turipinggir, Kecamatan Megaluh, Kabupaten Jombang serta faktor-faktor penyebab perubahan tradisi tersebut. Metode penelitian yang peneliti gunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian sejarah yaitu pemilihan topik, heuristik, interpretasi, kritik sumber, dan historiografi. Penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perubahan-perubahan pada tradisi wiwitan di Desa Turipinggir. Adapun perubahan tersebut antara lain yaitu penentuan hari, cara, uborampe, partisipasi masyarakat, dan perubahan nilai dalam tradisi wiwitan. Perubahan tersebut diakibatkan karena dua faktor yaitu faktor internal (dari dalam) dan eksternal (dari luar).
