Abstract
Sericite sample from Son Binh, Huong Son, Ha Tinh was used to remove Pb2+ ion from aqueous solution. The effects of factors including pH, contact time, mass of serisite and Pb2+ initial concentration on the adsorption Pb2+ efficiency and capacity were investigated. The results showed that the adsorption capacity and removal efficiency of Pb2+ reached 2,54 mg/g and 89 % at the suitable conditions: 0.7g sericite, Pb2+ intinal concentration of 40 mg/L and contact time 60 minutes at room temperature (25°C) and pH0 5,3. The adsorption process follows the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model with the maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of 5.52 mg/g and follows the pseudosecond-order kinetic equation.
