Abstract
For a long time, IMO, the heads of the maritime industry and ship-owning companies, and the command staff
have been seriously concerned about the safety of navigation and the exclusion of accidents and shipwrecks,
the negative manifestation of the "human factor" phenomenon during their commission.In the proposed article,
the authors, based on the analysis of scientific literature and accident statistics on ships sailing under the flag
of the Russian Federation, identified the most characteristic features of the "human factor" that significantly
affect the development of an emergency situation
