Reduce, Recycle And Reuse First Ever Initiative By Any Haryana Govt. Power Utility And Its Outcomes
This paper had been framed to highlight the importance and financial implications of implementation of 3R (Reduce, Recycle and Reuse) in power distribution sector for supply of power to end consumers with minimal cost in an environment friendly manner (EFM). Thus, pressing upon the need for reduction in the consumption of new electrical goods, recycling of old but reusable electrical items and putting them again into system after reimbursing, to decrease the overall cost to end consumer, which has exemplify as a concept of 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) in power distribution utilities. The 3R strategy was implemented illustratively in Divisional Store and Workshop, UHBVN Sonipat, which had saved nearly Rs. 56.75 lacs of revenue to Haryana Govt. under UHBVN (Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam) by these two offices in the past Eleven months only and that too without incurring expenditure of single paisa either to Haryana Govt. or from the UHBVN pocket. In addition to it the bio-hazardous waste/scrap materials were converted into beautiful vertical plant pots.
