Niñez, autocuidado y atención a la salud. Un análisis antropológico de la agencia de les niñes y adolescentes en el tratamiento medicamentoso contra el cáncer infantil.

Childhood cancer is a serious disease that compromises the health of thousands of children and adolescents in the world. This article analyzes the active role of these children who get sick and take responsibility for their own care. The health of children and adolescents is not only an adult matter (of health professionals and family members) or a matter for the State and organizations, but also a task carried out by those who get sick at a young age. An ethnographic work carried out in the Province of Buenos Aires in 2018, in a public hospital, describes the ways in which self-care is exercised when the diagnosis/treatment for cancer is transited and seeks healing/well-being.
