At the same time, contact connections can induce additional current harmonics, which depend on the state of the contact. When contact is affected by any vibration, then due to nonlinear dependence of transitional contact resistance on the magnitude of the contact-compressing force, the harmonic composition of currents flowing through a contact connection changes. It is known that additional harmonics in the electrical network lead to additional heat losses, as well as to overheating in the insulation of the windings of electrical machines.
