Besides, there is a definition of the media text and some considerations concerning its specific features as compared to other types of media texts, i.e., wide audience, video image, etc. British Broadcasting Corporation media texts have been chosen by the author as the object of analysis. A number of examples from recent BBC media texts are given and their analysis is conducted. The author states that alongside the text structure and the choice of material itself much attention should be paid to linguistic means: lexical, syntactical and prosodic.
