Noise properties of phase-(in)sensitive parametric amplifiers
One- and two-mode phase-sensitive parametric amplifiers, based on the inverse and direct modulation instability, respectively, were demonstrated recently. The quantum noise properties of these devices will be described in detail, and the consequences of these properties for phase-sensitive communication links will be discussed.
