The aim of the proposed statistical DBA approach is to allocate telecommunications services (TS) to free telecommunications channels (TChs), outside of those occupied by sensing fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). This FBGs occupation is caused by FBG sensing in Internet of Things (IoT) shared optical fiber line (OFL) of the passive optical network (PON). The proposed statistical DBA system is based on the detection of power in FBGs spectral peaks, applying various thresholding techniques. A robust FBGs occupancy matrix and TChs availability matrix are needed at an appropriate level of reliability, as a FBG often occupies more than one TCh.
