Structured Radio Beam for Orthogonal Multiplexing Communication
In this paper, a structured radio beam multiplexing communication link at X-band has been demonstrated experimentally. The structured radio beam constructed by plane spiral orbital angular momentum (PSOAM) mode-group (MG) can realize the azimuthal pattern diversity, which mainly exhibits two features: the directionality and the vorticity. Benefited from spiral phase distribution similar to conventional OAM wave, the structured radio beam also possesses the orthogonality under partial arc sampling receiving (PASR) scheme. The demultiplexing process can be realized by analog phase shifting operation with a low receiving complexity. Experimental results show that two structured radio beams' channels have a good isolation of about 15 dB, which can ensure the reliable data transmission at the same time.
