In this paper, the PHA method was improved and utilized in occupational disease hazard risk assessment with the help of risk matrices, and build a half quantitative risk assessment method named ODPHA for occupational hazard risk assessment. At last, we used the proposed method into the sintered project in an iron enterprise. The results showed not only the risk level for the sintering machine operation workers, but also the hazard sources severity level and environment exposure possibility level which can guide us to take the corresponding preventive measures. The proposed method was verified to possess the advantages of simple, feasible and available, which can not only give a half quantitative risk assessment result, but also provide the risk rating for each of the occupational disease hazard factor.
