Child abuse in various forms has become a daily occurrence in Bangladesh in recent times. Although there are provisions in the legal framework of Bangladesh to protect the overall rights of children and to prevent all forms of abuse and torture, abuse against children is increasing gradually. Not surprisingly enough, the importance of children and their rights are well defined in Islamic law.
