Therefore, it is an imperative to create new modes and to improve existing modes of assistance and support to this group of people. This paper specifically seeks to draw attention to possible directions for the development of care services for the elderly. The tasks of the professionals (social workers and occupational therapists), working in institutions for the permanent placement/accommodation and care of the elderly, were also analyzed.
