A Compact Three Port Circular MIMO Antenna For Unlicensed UWB Frequency Range Applications
This paper exhibits the designing methodology of a compact three-port circular antenna for unlicensed ultra-wideband frequency range applications. The attributes of the projected antenna are 24mmx24mmx1.6mm. The substrate of the antenna is furnished by using FR4 epoxy material. The top and botttom plane of the presented antenna are constructed using copper material. The antenna achieves the overall −10 dB bandwidth ranging from 2.8 GHz to 11.9 GHz. The net frequency range acquired by the presented three port antenna derives to be 9.1 GHz. The frequency of resonance of the constructed antenna is 6.5 GHz with a return loss of −21.03 dB. The crest gain of the constructed antenna is 1.33 dBi at the crest gain frequency of 11.9 GHz. The overall gain of the antenna at the frequency of resonance is −1.6 dBi. The efficiency of radiation of the antenna is 90.55%. The antenna is best suitable to be used in mobile communications as well as in the miniaturized devices in the unlicensed frequency range.
