Design and Implementation of Rotor Position Estimation Scheme for PMSM Drive
This paper presents a rotor position estimation scheme for high performance Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) drive. The rotor position of PMSM drive is estimated by measuring stator voltage and current quantity of PMSM drive. Initially the PMSM drive run by V/F control technique. Once the motor reaches up-to 10% of synchronous speed, then V/F control technique switch over to sensorless control algorithm. Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique has been used to generate three phase voltages from the dc link source. The closed-loop speed control has been shown to be effective from standstill to rated speed. Computer simulation and experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme.
