Teacher of Russian as a Foreign Language – the Face of Russia

This article describes the indispensable contribution that Anatoly N. Shchukin made to the methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language and to its development. The article discusses the role of the teacher who teaches different aspects of the Russian language to foreign students. The object of analysis is educational and strategic goals. These goals increase students’ motivation during the learning process and develop a respectful, friendly, and positive attitude to Russia and to the Russian language and Russian culture among foreign students who study Russian.
