The influence of slurry parameters on the film formation effect was analyzed with the water filtration quantity as the index of evaluation, and the control index suitable for the field engineering was proposed. The results show that, for formation process with high permeability and larger average pore size, it takes longer to form filter cake, and the stability of the filter cake is better; to obtain a stable filter cake on the surface of a high permeability stratum, particle size distribution and gravity matching with the stratum need to be chosen when preparing the slurry to ensure the content of particles entering the pores of the stratum. At the same time, viscosity-increasing components were added to increase the viscosity, which significantly enhances the binding force between the slurry and the particles and improving the stability of the filter cake; Water filtration quantity ratio above 0.6 can form a high-quality slurry film.
