It involves using Information Systems (IS) to create proper guidance for individuals and organisations to make better green sustainable decisions and work practices. Sadly, there were only a few studies on the adoption of GIS among manufacturers. This study aims to identify the factors affecting the GIS adoption among manufacturers and propose a GIS adoption model for manufacturing companies in Malaysia. The Belief-Action-Outcome model was used as the core theory for GIS adoption among manufacturers. Seventy-six valid surveys were received from manufacturers during the data collection. The data analysed using the partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) showed that pollution prevention practices and sustainable development practices are able to translate into beneficial environmental performance. Coercive pressure was found able to increase the GIS adoption. Managers who were concerned about the harmful effect on the environment were more likely to adopt GIS. 摘要
