The overall power system contains conventional thermal, hydro, gas and wind power plant in a two area power system. The thermal power plant comprises certain physical non-linearities like Generation Rate Constraint (GRC) and Governor dead band (GDB) for realistic approach. This paper also comprises the effect of a Flexible Alternating Current (AC) Transmission System (FACTS) device i.e. Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC) in series with tie line. A Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller with a derivative filter is introduced to control the power system and externally attenuate the noise in the system.
