A Economia Circular e a Geração de Emprego e Renda para os Catadores de Materiais Recicláveis em Belém e RMB: Cooperativa Filhos do Sol
The objective of this work is to analyze the generation of employment and income for recyclable material collectors and the role of public policies in this matter. To reach this objective, we start from the hypothesis that the Circular Economy is an alternative to insert the collectors in the productive chain of waste of recyclable materials, enabling the creation of employment and income for them. For this, the methodology used was action research, in addition to interviews and application of questionnaires with the cooperative members. As a basic theory, we use the Circular Economy, which advocates the use of secondary raw materials, the reinsertion of recyclable materials into the production chain, recycling and reuse of products, to maintain the circularity of the production process, taking into account sustainability. As a result, we identified that through the productive organization of the cooperative, important improvements are generated in the generation of employment and income, satisfying the financial and personal needs through productivity, especially those who are in economic vulnerability, however, there was a lack of support of public policies (City Hall), as support in this selective collection activity.
