Emissão de Gases do Efeito Estufa com Base na Geração de Resíduos Sólidos Domésticos e Consumo de Energia Elétrica na Escola de Engenharia de Lorena 洛林工程学院基于生活固体废物产生和电力消耗的温室气体排放

The increase in demands related to various sectors of society, mainly with the use of land and energy, intensified the generation and disposal of solid waste and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As a result, measures aimed at controlling and minimizing GHG emissions had to become a reality and one of these measures was the creation of an indicator called the carbon footprint or CF indicator, which counts carbon emissions from various activities or across the phases of a product. One of the main sources of GHG generation is the generation of domestic solid waste, which involves the collection, transport and final disposal in a sanitary landfill, with all stages capable of generating GHG; and the consumption of electricity. Therefore, the objective of this project is the quantification of GHG from the generation of domestic solid waste and electric energy consumption at the School of Engineering of Lorena – EEL. For this, the methodology described in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories Volume 5 on Waste and the average monthly emission factor of the Brazilian Interconnected System (SIN) for the base years 2020 and 2021 were used. As a result, it was obtained that the potential for generating methane (CH4) from the generation of waste in the EEL is 0,0015 Gg, so the CH4 emission considering the first-rate decay method order is 0,0014 GgCH4 or 1,4 tCH4; and that the total emission from electricity consumption during the year (May 2020 to April 2021) was 556,8 tons of carbon dioxide (tCO2). These values are below the GHG generation of other universities consulted, however, it is worth mentioning that the period analyzed in this study comprises the period of suspension of academic classroom activities. It is recommended that these analyzes be carried out semi-annually to assess the impact of the return of face-to-face activities on campus.

SUSTENTABILIDADE COMO TEMA TRANSVERSAL NA EDUCAÇÃO BÁSICA DA PARAÍBA: Uma Revisão Bibliográfica 可持续性作为paraiba基础教育的交叉主题:文献综述

The present study sought to qualitatively discuss, through bibliographic research, how Sustainability is addressed in public education in Paraíba, in addition to observing how Sustainable Development Goal 4 has contributed to directing the improvement of the quality of basic education in the region. A literature review was carried out, seeking to qualitatively explore the data on the topic addressed. To access them, the scientific storage platforms Scielo and Google academic were used. In considering the Brazilian legislation, the portals of the Planalto and of the federal and state legislative houses in Paraíba were used. For search criteria, the keywords were used: Environmental Education; Sustainability; Education in Paraíba; Basic education; and SDGs 4. The time frame was 11 years, covering publications from 2010 to 2021. Therefore, debating topics such as sustainability in schools becomes essential, from a developmental, socio-environmental and educational point of view, so that students understand their relevance in the contribution of the preservation, defense and sustainable use of natural resources, in addition to assisting in the fulfillment of SDG 4. It is concluded that it was possible to verify that few students understand the concept of sustainability, strengthening the need to apply the theme in the school environment permanently and interdisciplinary. It was possible to show that the contents related to Environmental Education (already scarce) are not approached in an interdisciplinary way, being applied almost only by teachers of Natural Sciences. However, in one case analyzed in this study, the topic was discussed in the curricular component Geography.

INVENTÁRIO DE GASES DE EFEITO ESTUFA E METODOLOGIA DE NEUTRALIZAÇÃO VOLUNTÁRIA: APLICAÇÃO EM EVENTO DE NEGÓCIOS 温室气体清单和自愿中和方法:在商业活动中的应用

RESUMO O presente trabalho aborda uma prática de sustentabilidade na promoção de eventos sustentáveis. Com a realização de inventários de Gases de Efeito Estufa é possível reduzir, quantificar e compensar ambientalmente os impactos ambientais pela realização de eventos de qualquer porte. Objetivou-se analisar as emissões e metodologia de neutralização de um evento de negócios realizado em 2018 na cidade de Natal/RN. A estimativa da emissão total de GEE para o evento estudado seguiu a metodologia proposta pelo Programa Brasileiro GHG Protocol, obtendo-se o resultado da geração total de 84,78 CO2e. A fonte emissora "transportes", pertencente ao escopo 3 (emissões indiretas), foi a mais representativa. A compensação ambiental ocorreu através da apresentação de metodologia de plantio de mudas visando um futuro plantio.

Textbooks are support materials for the training of young people who are attending basic education, commonly used in Brazil, in some cases, they can be the only resource available to teachers and students. In this study, the objective was to qualitatively analyze the contents about the themes that govern Environmental Education, in the textbooks of the Natural Sciences curricular component, in Elementary School II, aiming to discuss the ways that the authors of the works approach these themes and the degree of relevance given to them. It is considered that the approach of Environmental Education in the classroom, based on the themes proposed by the textbooks, is insufficient to cause a significant impact on the formation of new citizens.
