Economic dispatch optimizes the per unit cost of generation. The economic operation of thermal plants with wind integration is proposed in this paper. Dynamic economic dispatch (DED) problem has been solved using quadratic constrained programming by CPLEX solver in General Algebraic Modelling System (GAMS) software. The effect of wind integration has been studied on the economic operation of thermal units considering first test system. First Test system consists of three thermal units and second test system consists of six thermal units. A day ahead wind forecasting and demand forecasting have been considered for analysis.
