The article reviews the development of feminist theory, emphasises the importance of body narrative theory and its application in film studies, and chooses the film Portrait de la Jeune Fille en Feu as the object of study. Through textual analysis and feminist critical theory, this study dissects the body narratives of the female characters to reveal how visual language and symbols shape the body's position in gendered power relations.
