Through in-depth interviews with teachers, this research investigates the nuances of authoritative, authoritarian, permissive and neglectful parenting styles. Thematic analysis revealed that an authoritative parenting style, which balances responsiveness and demandingness, promotes better academic outcomes by increasing motivation and self-discipline. In contrast, an authoritarian and neglectful parenting style often results in lower academic achievement due to increased stress and lack of support.
