Comunicación de riesgo para la salud por crisis sanitaria de COVID-19
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is an infectious disease. Following its outbreak in Wuhan, China (December 2019), the rapid spread of the virus caused alarm around the world. The World Health Organization declared this outbreak a pandemic, and countries around the world continue to struggle with rising confirmed cases. As of May 4, 2020, more than 3.3 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported, and more than 238,730 deaths in 215 countries. The virus can be spread by close contact and by droplets produced by coughing, sneezing, or talking. On the other hand, in times of crisis, social networks and some media that do not provide adequate information, generate some uncertainty in the population. For this reason, the present study presents the objective of evaluating the communication of health risk by Covid-19 from the perception of the Peruvian inhabitants. A descriptive study with a non-experimental design was carried out. Health risk communication from Covid-19 has been inadequately issued to the population; Most of the announcements issued by the responsible organizations have generated low levels of trust in people, perceiving a lack of credibility, timeliness, timely information and transparency, as well as messages with double meanings that do not guide to avoid contagion.
