Hepcidin expression is affected by many factors, such as inflammation, hypoxia and signal transduction factors. Hepcidin gene expression is mainly regulated by signaling pathways, such as JAK/STAT, BMP/Smad, TLRs/MyD88, PI3K/AKT etc..
