Comparison of Scalar and Vector Vortex Beams for Turbulence-Immune Applications
We study the propagation properties of scalar and vector vortex beams through a turbulent atmosphere. The irradi-ance beam profile, scintillation index and crosstalk are computed for different propagation distances in atmosphere with weak and strong turbulences. We also implement a neural network for a classification task to determine the number of topological charges of the scalar and vector vortex beams.
