The design and implementation of the OIM procedure is not strictly prescribed by sec. 167 (2) SGB IX and can be freely designed by the employer, such as by establishing OIM representatives. The article addresses the question of whether there is any evidence of this measure and presents the results of a systematic literature analysis. The findings reveal that there is a considerable need for research. and, in particular, role conflicts of OIM representatives in the organisational context need to be examined. External approaches should be compared with this model and evaluated comparatively with regard to their costs and effectiveness.
