ex Ralfs var. attenuatum Schmidle, E. cornubiense West & G.S. , E. inme (Ralfs) P. Lundell, E. obesum Joshua var. obesum, E. umbonatum (West & G.S.West) Schmidle。
From the inventory of desmids occurring in lotic and lentic environment, North Coast Environmental Protection Area of Bahia State, Northeastern Brazil, were cataloged 45 taxa (35 Euastrum Ehrenb. ex Ralfs and ten Micrasterias C. Agardh ex Ralfs); 37 constitute additions to the flora of the Northeast, of these eight are being registered for the first time to Brazil, they are: Euastrum ansatum Ehrenb. ex Ralfs var. attenuatum Schmidle, E. cornubiense West & G.S. West var. medianum (Nordst.) Willi Krieg., E. croasdaleae Gronblad var. croasdaleae, E. divaricatum P. Lundell var. divaricatum, E. humbertii Bourr., E. inerme (Ralfs) P. Lundell, E. obesum Joshua var. obesum, E. umbonatum (West & G.S.West) Schmidle. The material studied came from 230 samples collected during two periods in summer (January-March 2009) and in winter (June-August 2009). Descriptions and comments are provided with related taxa, as well as expanding the geographic distribution of these for the northeast and for Brazil.
