The effects of nursing intervention on discharged hemiplegic patients with stroke
Objective To observe the effect of nursing intervention on the function recovery of the paralytic limb and the activity of daily living in discharged hemiplegic patients with stroke. Methods A total of 120 discharged hemiplegic patients with stroke were divided into the experiment group and control group randomly. Both groups received routine medical treatment and nursing care during in hospital. After discharged, patients in the control group received conventional interview regularly, while patients in the experiment group received the nursing intervention that carried out with the way of regular interview or telephone survey. The function recovery of the paralytic limb and the activity of daily living were evaluated before and after nursing intervention. Results There was improvement of the Brunnsrom grades, Fugl-Meyer accumulated points and Barthel points in both groups, but the indexes of the experiment group improved more obviously, and the differences were statically significant. Conclusions Nursing intervention can accelerate the function recovery of the paralytic limb, enhance the activity of daily living, and improve patients quality of life.
