Objective To observe the effect of nursing intervention on the function recovery of the paralytic limb and the activity of daily living in discharged hemiplegic patients with stroke. Methods A total of 120 discharged hemiplegic patients with stroke were divided into the experiment group and control group randomly. Both groups received routine medical treatment and nursing care during in hospital. After discharged, patients in the control group received conventional interview regularly, while patients in the experiment group received the nursing intervention that carried out with the way of regular interview or telephone survey. The function recovery of the paralytic limb and the activity of daily living were evaluated before and after nursing intervention. Results There was improvement of the Brunnsrom grades, Fugl-Meyer accumulated points and Barthel points in both groups, but the indexes of the experiment group improved more obviously, and the differences were statically significant. Conclusions Nursing intervention can accelerate the function recovery of the paralytic limb, enhance the activity of daily living, and improve patients quality of life. Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of physiotherapy for decreasing the pulmonary infection after orthotopic liver transplantation. Methods From April of 2004 to September of 2005, 196 cases in our unit were divided into two groups. A group used the regular therapy and B group adopted the methods to prevent from the pulmonary complications, including respiratory muscle function training, thoracic vibration, percussion and effective cough in addition to the regular nursing. The therapeutic effect was observed and recorded. Results Under the physical therapy, respiratory tract infection in B group decreased significantly. Conclusions Physiotherapy can improve respiratory function and decrease pulmonary infection, especially for the critical patients of immune suppression. It can also enhance the back skin nursing. So physiotherapy deserves to be applied widely.
