在一些8、9世纪的叶尼塞语铭文中，有与粟特人有关的词语，如碑E42中的Arγu，碑E52中的Čač(塔什干)，碑E55中的Čaγar(，“勇士”)，碑E69中的p l s(保罗/保罗，人名)等。其中，E69墓主p l s(保罗)来自粟特亚的石国(塔什干)。这为认识粟特人和吉尔吉斯人的关系提供了关键的历史资料，表明当时在叶尼塞盆地，粟特人和吉尔吉斯人之间存在着物质和文化的交流。
