Investigation of Strain Magnification Effect on Fiber Optic by Using COMSOL Multiphysics Software
The strain magnification effect on the conventional single mode fiber (SMF) is investigated by using solid mechanics module in COMSOL Multiphysics. The strain effect is measured by applying the hydrostatic pressure on the SMF. In this paper, different coating materials and the position of the SMF in the coating are investigated.
