Abstract

Geometric acoustics is one of the most commonly used techniques for exploring what a virtual environment sounds like. These methods allow the user to place a sound source and receiver in a space and compute how the space influences what the receiver hears. These simulation methods are well-known, but most are proprietary or difficult to implement. We present a web-based simulator that enables anyone with an internet connection to hear a virtual space quickly and easily. Our simulator is written in C++ and compiled to javascript for use in all major web browsers.
