Dr. Alkheder’s research interests are represented in using modern digital spatial technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS) and remote sensing in studying and analysing different landscape planning and management issues using different engineering approaches. Dr Al-kheder has a large number of publications including numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and more than ten conference papers. Dr. Al-kheder is the recipient of the ESRI Award for Best Scientific Paper in GIS in the USA, 2009.
