Abstract

Due to the deformable and locally adjustable characteristics and local field enhancements, near-zero-index (NZI) medium has found applications in sensors, waveguides, integrated circuits, and other fields. Here a cylindrical microfluidic channel is etched into epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) medium and a microfluidic sensor with high sensitivity is realized The transmission coefficients and phase of the magnetic fields are observed. It can be seen that the sensor has high sensitivity and small changes of the effective permeability can be effectively measured.
