«BEAUTY» AS AN AESTHETIC CATEGORY AND VALUE IN THE RESEARCHES OF CAI YI

Abstract

In the article, the author considers the philosophical theory of the famous Chinese scientist, philosopher, linguist Cai Yi about the category “beauty”. In his researches, Cai Yi put forward the theory that “beauty” is an objective reality, or a reflection in our subjective consciousness of this objective reality. In his reasoning’s about beauty, Cai Yi relies on the Marxist theory of values, for which was important to answer the question of the primacy of matter and spirit. The author focuses on the fact that Cai Yi, who took Marxist philosophy as a basis, put forward the theory that beauty, as an aesthetic category, characterizes phenomena from the point of view of perfection, so that, it has the highest aesthetic value.
