Abstract

In this paper, a salty water loaded transmission line attenuator is proposed. The attenuator consists of a metallic shielded stripline, salty water and a plastic container. By loading the salty water, the metallic shielded transmission has a -10 dB attenuation from 0.8 GHz to 3 GHz. This design takes full use of the water’s fluidity to circulate the water and dissipate the heat. Simulations are conducted to qualify and validate the attenuator performance. This design can be a promising candidate for high power applications.
