Abstract
In this paper is presented an investigation on use of piercing type connectors to make the connection between the distribution transformer output cables and overhead multiplexed lines of LV (380/220V) distribution network. The proposed test is based on NBR9326 standard related to the wedge type connectors, since there is not recommendation associated to piercing type connectors. A theoretical analysis is presented to assist the creation of thermal and electric models, which are used in the simulation studies. In order to execute the laboratory tests, NBR-9326 standard recommendations were adapted. To illustrate the paper, simulations and laboratory test results are presented.
