Abstract
To explore the development trend of journals of natural sciences in domestic "double first-class" universities included by EI. Based on Scopus database and Scival analysis tool, this paper analyzes the indexes such as the total number of papers published, the average annual number of papers, the frequency of citations, the trend of the number of papers published, the percentile of Citescore and Citescore, FWCI and the cooperation of papers in the journals of natural sciences of colleges and universities included by EI in the "double first-class" in China. The Journal of Tianjin University (NATURAL SCIENCE EDITION) is compared with the relevant data of these university journals. This paper quantitatively shows the development trend and competitiveness of the Journal of natural science of Tianjin University, explores the shortcomings of the journal, and puts forward the corresponding development strategies. Although there are obvious differences in academic quality among the 12 journals, they also have their own advantages and characteristics, but the overall influence and competitiveness are not optimistic. In the "double first class" construction process, journals of higher education institutions should determine their own positions and advantages according to their respective strengths. We should not only keep high-quality articles in higher education institutions, but also focus on the high-quality teaching materials of other schools related to the main fields of higher education institutions, strengthen scientific cooperation with international institutions and other higher education institutions, improve academic standards and enhance the international influence of magazines.
