Abstract
Nowadays, a lot of young people are considering careers in startups, which are small businesses that create technology-based products. Working in startups is regarded as the pride of today's youth because aside from the flexibility of working hours, young people are interested in the startup industry because of the horizontal communication style, which allows superiors and subordinates to communicate with each other directly in two directions without the use of a bureaucratic system. Of course, this kind of communication process has involved human relations as the key to building persuasive and effective communication in order to achieve the common goals of the organization. This study aims to analyze the application of the principles of human relations using qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews on the research subject of one of the startups in Indonesia, which is then analyzed based on Keith Davis' theory. The results of the study show that Zuzu Hospitality, a startup in Indonesia, has implemented eight principles of human relations according to Keith Davis' theory, there are 1) The Importance of individual, 2) Mutual acceptance, 3) Common interest, 4) Open communication, 5) Employee participations, 6) Local identity, 7) Local decisions, and 8) High moral standard.
