Perfil do consumidor de pescado em dois municípios do litoral amazônico brasileiro: uma análise com foco em produtos da piscicultura, ano de 2017.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the profile of fish consumers in two municipalities of the Brazilian Amazonian coast in order to identify consumption preferences for marine and freshwater fish from extractive and captive fishing. Questionnaires were applied to 400 consumers, equally divided between Bragança and Tracuateua, in Pará State. The approach took place in municipal markets and street fairs between August and November 2017. Results indicate that despite their low purchasing power the analyzed municipalities present a high frequency of fish consumption, with Tracuateua being more attractive for commercializing freshwater fish, including the tambaqui (Colossoma macropopum, Characidae) from fish farming.
