Soroprevalência de sífilis em pacientes submetidos à fertilização assistida

Abstract

Objective

To determine the seroprevalence of syphilis in patients undergoing assisted reproduction.

Method

Retrospective descriptive study conducted from january to december 2011 in patients undergoing assisted reproduction of low and high complexity at the Hospital and Clinic Fertility Diagnostics in Goiania. The test used for the diagnosis of syphilis was not treponemal test and treponemal.

Results

In the Hospital das Clinicas found 320 women. Negative not treponemal test were found in 253 of these patients and 67 were not screened. In Fertile Diagnostics were selected in 1,942 patients, 896 women and 728 are men. Of this total, 318 did not perform serology necessary to start treatment, and then collected data from 1,624 patients.

Conclusion

The overall prevalence of syphilis in patients undergoing assisted reproduction is 0.11%, and considering the female sample was 0% public and private female sample was 0.11%, and the sample was male private 0.14%.
