Abstract
Photonic Crystal Enhanced Microscopy
In article number 2401837, Brian T. Cunningham and co-workers present a revolutionized 2D hole-array photonic crystal (PC), fabricated using cost-effective replica molding, that enables generation of uniform electromagnetic near-field enhancement under non-polarized illumination. This advancement improves SARS-CoV-2 antibody detection based on photonic resonator absorption microscopy, offering enhanced contrast, uniform signal distribution, a finer point spread function, and reduced noise compared to traditional 1D PC structures.
