They exhibited typical features of PGPB, such as inorganic phosphate solubilization, production of indole acetic acid, ammonia, and biofilm formation. Bacterial inoculation of wheat plants led to the identification of potentially interesting strains that positively affected biometric parameters (i.e., shoot height, tiller number and spike weight) in a genotype-dependent way.
