Abstract
An analysis of the PV-modules available on the European market leads to the operating conditions of the module orientated inverters. The efficiency at rated power and the costs have been calculated for a selection of nine power electronic circuits out of the 30 topologies under consideration. The inverter was simulated by a computer model to develop and compare different current control techniques. The results led to the development of an inverter with a rated power of 700 W (MoSR 700).
