Abstract

We present an inexpensive lab to teach amplitude -monopulse radar concepts. The experimental set-up is based on the use of commodity WiFi hardware to measure the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). Using two commercial panel antennas and simple MATLAB signal processing, the students can estimate the Direction of Arrival (DoA) of the WiFi signal coming from a smartphone or any WiFi device.
